Yadda, Yadda, Yadda.....and Cattle

Why does it matter? Why do we choose the financial institutions we do business with? Why do we bother? They all say that the difference between each other is the service, yet they advertise rate. We react to the advertisement and let the service validate our experience. So truly why is it that you chose that institution? I want to know, why that bank, community bank, or credit union? Is it location? Is it the value proposition of doing business with some other benefit such as working with local people who understand your situation or working with a financial cooperative to help out your fellow member at a credit union? Please respond, hopefully this will pop on someone's radar. If leaders at financial insitutions don't hear your voice then how will they know what to do to satisfy your hunger or does it really matter? Do we just go through the motions and truly don't care why we do things as a herd of cattle?

Signed from someone outside the herd,

Personally I choose the bank that carried my mortgage when they decided to go into the "retail banking" arena. WAMU, but also because that retail location turned up right near my house. NOW, after only 1.5 years that convenient location has been eliminated, and I am already reconsidering the intelligence of that impulsive choice. The only remaining benifit is, no fees as a "platnum account client". But driving miles to make deposits in person is not advisable at this rate of price/gallon! PS: Nice meeting you, David! Tania
